Future of this forum

In early December we sent out a survey asking BC Alumni to rank in order of importance the features of our website. This message forum rank among the lowest, and based on how it is utilized it doesn't make financial sense to continue paying for it.
I want to write specifically to you who have used it in the past. In years where support has been low, I have made up shortfalls personally and paid for these add-ons out of pocket. Unfortunately I'm not at a place anymore to do that. I wish I were. Bottom line - if you want this forum to continue, the cost annually is currently $60 for the Message Board. If you want to support it I'll be happy to keep it online, but the renewal is due now. Choose "Support" from the main menu. Please reply to this message as well to let me know.
Unfortunately if support is not received, this forum will not be able to continue.

HI! Reunion Reschedule?

Well, it is nice to be on the boards writing again and I would love to see more of my classmates posting...but I get it life is busy!

Thanks to all those that get this going and put in the time. I sure hope everyone takes the time to throw in a few dollars, as it does take that to keep it running.

It's a busy time of year for all of us, the last of my "babies" are graduating (OMG, that means I am old now for sure) and Kris has announced his engagement. Troy will probably be announcing her's soon...and Mark and I will be looking at each other and laughing that we have made it to this stage in life!!

Friends are already asking about GRANDCHILDREN...are they NUTS? We are just glad to get to this point without them these days! So now what is next? My husband is having his class reunion and I am wondering when ours will be? Any clue? Since ours was canceled due to the storm...has there been any talk of a redo?

Well, it is that time. I hope that classmates will jump in.

Death of a classmate

Arthur W. Turner of the class of 1968 passed away on 1/25/10. His funeral is scheduled for Saturday 1/30/10 at Claybar in Orange at 10am. For those of those who can't place him he was on the "Cardinal Guard" guarding the mascot. I am his sister.

Eddie Dean Istre

Looking for anyone who may know anything at all or even better have pics of Eddie Dean Istre. He passed away when my husband was very young and really knows nothing about him and does not have many pics of him when he was younger. He graduated in 1970, and went to the Navy where he stayed until he died of cancer. Please if anyone remembers just even something small about Eddie, it would be so greatly appreicated.

SEPTEMBER 21, 2009

A reception/open house is planned to recognize all former Bridge City High School Band members on Monday, September 21, 2009 at Bridge City High School from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm. The BCHS Alumni Association and Bridge City ISD invite band members, as well as alumni, from all graduating classes to attend the reunion. Band Alumni will be invited to march with the BCHS Band to Larry Ward Stadium (formally Cardinal Stadium) after the reception for the "Burning of the Letters" and pep rally. The event will begin activities for Homecoming 2009. On Friday, September 25, band members from all graduating classes will be recognized during the Homecoming game. This is an effort to salute all BCHS Band members that dedicated many hours of hard work to Bridge City High School and the community.

Class of 78 is organizing a 50th Birthday Party for weekend of November 13-15, 2009. Visit 1978 Class page for more information.

BCHS 85 Reunion....25 years !!!!

ok.....i've been trying to figure out the best & simplest ways to use classmates & facebook so they can help with planning the 25 year reunion & contact everyone......quite frankly i don't care for facebook - even tho it's free ....(there are rumors they may start charging a fee), and the only good thing about classmates is there are around 100 people listed as members of our class - but not everyone is a paying member.......in my opinion these sites are "TOO BUSY" for busy people -- they have too much eye candy, too many navigational buttons/links, too many ferris wheels, too many bells & whistles, too much fluff, and WAY too much extra crap we don't really need....... i think ALL WE REALLY need is a contact/email list that people can subscribe to so we can send general updates and info; and we need a message board -- to post planning info if you want to try & attend planning meetings and to also get the finalized reunion info........lets save the posting of pics, playing games, sending hugs, joining groups, etc, on the afore-mentioned sites.......

can anyone, or would anyone, be willing to design & oversee a cheap & simple website dedicated only to our BCHS 85 reunions ???? we can add a couple dollars to the price of attending the reunions for site maintenance --- and some of us would be willing to send you some money now to help start it ....... i know frank scales has the everything bchs website (which is great) but i don't think we can use it as the only means of communication between just our class because there are fewer people registered there than at classmates........

the email i used for the last reunion is heyacebchs85 on yahoo & i'll be checking it more often than going to classmates or facebook --- so please send any suggestions on how to make this reunion as simple as possible.......

As you all know,we were hit hard by Hurricane Ike here in out little town of Bridge City. As everyone is getting back together and putting there lives back together, we have come across a BIG problem !! Project Graduation 2009 is under a tremendous hardship, all the businesses, and people that have helped with Project Graduations in the past are hurting, and tryint to put there lives back together, has made it almost impossible for these people and businesses to help. We are asking all Bridge City alumni graduates to please help with Project Graduation 2009, so we can try to make our 2009 seniors have a normal Project Graduation, they have been through enough !! If you would like to make any kind of donation, or maybe your company you work for can help, if so, e-mail me, and I'll send you more information. Just came across this site this evening! Would like to hear from those I went to school with from the days at Mrs. Hills' kindergarten , all the way through Roy Hatton Elementary and then our sophomore year at Bridge City High School.

I am Rozeann Robb (now Rozeann Robb-Griggs). I was the strange girl that wasn't allowed to go out at recess because I had asthma and wore the silly head scarf or bandanna!!!!

I remember many of you!--Charles Polk, Joey, Billy Braus, Donna Stone, Kelly Cox, Kay Emmert, Tina, Lori, Barbara.....and many more.
